Nestled along the picturesque shoreline of Portstewart, Born & Bread is not just a cafe; it's a local gem that invites you to savor the simple joys of life. With its vibrant atmosphere and stunning views of the coast, this charming spot makes for a delightful retreat whether you're seeking a quick coffee, a light lunch, or a leisurely afternoon treat.

The menu at Born & Bread celebrates wholesome, fresh cuisine that resonates with the community. Customers rave about the seafood chowder, perfectly embodying the essence of coastal dining, rich and creamy, filled with succulent seafood that boasts the flavors of the sea. Breakfast lovers can indulge in the hearty grilled breakfast that leaves you feeling invigorated and ready to explore the nearby scenery, while the Caesar salad paired with an open prawn sandwich is a crowd pleasure that's loved for its balance of crisp textures and robust flavors.

What truly sets Born & Bread apart is its commitment to creating an inviting atmosphere. The cafe buzzes with laughter and conversation, enhanced by the friendly demeanor of the staff who treat everyone like family. Helene Graham perfectly captures this spirit in her review, noting the “eye-friendly staff” and the great spot to enjoy lunch while watching the world go by. This sense of community is also echoed by Piya, who shares heartwarming memories of her family’s longstanding affection for the cafe, emphasizing the warmth and respect that welcomes every guest.

Don't miss the opportunity to sip on their delightful coffee, a staple that Nick Browne described as great. Whether you prefer a rich latte or a refreshing matcha – as praised by Turan Gunes’s daughter – each cup invites you to take a moment for yourself.

While the culinary offerings at Born & Bread are exceptional, some feedback, like Paul Green’s, suggests that the cafe could benefit from improved ventilation, especially as delightful aromas waft through the air while dishes are prepared. Nevertheless, the ambiance remains relaxing and inviting, making it a perfect spot to unwind.

Ultimately, Born & Bread is more than just a cafe; it’s a slice of Portstewart life. With beautiful views, friendly staff, and a menu that strikes a chord with locals and visitors alike, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in great food and shared moments by the coast.

Fantastic little spot for coffee and sweet treats and for lunch. Great spot to watch the world go by and along the coast. Eye friendly staff. Enjoyed a great Caesar salad and open prawn sandwich with spicy chips.

Coffee was great and service too. Food was ok but also could be improved with a quick brush before opening or regular throughout the day every 2/4hrs.

This is a family favourite and I believe my partners family have been going there for decades! The staff are lovely and they are treat us with respect. The food and drinks here great and always served fresh and hot. I also got the fudge whilst I visited and they were great! They have kept a plaque up for a family member that was regular and just has so much respect for the little town.

Had a really lovely grilled breakfast and my wife had the eggs and avocado on sourdough. Coffee was great too. So many places on the north coast struggle to serve both decent food and coffee. Its either one or the other. Only gripe was the place could do with more ventilation. It used to be a deli so openable windows wasn’t a big deal. As they are now cooking, the place does heat up and cooking smells do linger

Great atmosphere, breakfast, and coffee. My daughter thinks their matcha is excellent. Great menu choices and attentive staff. Don't forget the beautiful view from the window.
